At The Marzetti Company, our purpose is to Nourish Growth with All That We Do – and each summer, that purpose comes to life through our Internship Program.
Designed to help college students gain real-world experience while building professional skills and connections, the 12-week program provides interns with opportunities to contribute to meaningful business projects, collaborate across teams, and learn from leaders throughout the organization. Since the program’s inception in 2023, Marzetti has hosted nearly 100 undergraduate and graduate interns from 36 universities across the nation. The program offers several benefits including competitive pay, flexible work arrangements, and even housing for non-local students.
Beyond their day-to-day responsibilities, interns participate in professional development sessions, leadership lunch-and-learns, volunteer opportunities, networking events, and social activities that help create a well-rounded and memorable summer experience.
What sets the program apart is the opportunity for interns to make a meaningful impact from day one. Rather than observing from the sidelines, interns are entrusted with projects that support real business objectives and provide valuable hands-on experience.
“The most valuable part of the program was working on a project with a real business impact,” said former Retail Brand Management Intern Chloe Harris, who joined Marzetti full-time following her internship. “It was rewarding to see my work contribute to the growth of the brand even after my internship was over.”
Another defining aspect of the experience is the support interns receive from managers, mentors, and colleagues across the organization. Throughout the summer, interns are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and take on new challenges while receiving guidance that helps them build confidence and develop professionally.
For former intern Brady Au, who has now been with the company for more than three years, that support made a lasting impression.
“Through multiple transition points in my career, there have been people at Marzetti who went out of their way to help me,” he said. “They’ve taken the time to teach me new things and offer advice that has stuck with me.”
As the program concludes, interns leave with more than just professional experience. They gain valuable skills, meaningful connections, and greater confidence in their future careers, all while making an impact and growing alongside a team committed to nourishing growth.
“I became much more confident in speaking up, asking questions, and seeking out opportunities to learn,” said former intern Carley Shepherd. “My internship at Marzetti helped me feel both prepared and excited for my future.”
